This is one of my favorite albums of all time, and sadly it has been out of print for almost 30 years. Beautiful, edgy instrumental prog-rock, but lacking the pretensions of say Yes or Genesis. More akin to Zappa’s “Hot Rats” or “Waka Jawaka.” If you are not familiar with Glenn Phillips, he is an Atlanta guitar virtuoso in league with Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, and Fred Frith. He has one of those guitar sounds that is singular and unique, recognizable after just a few bars.
